Small Space Living

What was once a backyard barn has been transformed into a light-filled 900-square-foot accessory dwelling unit under the new Massachusetts ADU law. Designed for multi-generational living, this compact home combines thoughtful planning, clever storage, and expressive finishes to create a sense of openness and comfort within a modest footprint.

Dormers introduce light and headroom while maintaining the barn’s simple form and character. Inside, a mint-green and navy palette, brushed brass accents, and built-in furnishings bring warmth and personality to every space—from the kitchen and dining nook to the living area with integrated shelving and window seats. The two bedrooms each serve distinct needs: a serene primary suite and a playful children’s room with custom bunk beds and hidden storage.

This project reflects our commitment to adaptive design—reimagining existing structures to meet contemporary needs while preserving their intrinsic charm.
