Transitional Transformation
Thoughtful updates for a 1937 center-hall Colonial in Needham respectfully emphasizes the existing charm while enhancing livability. Our clients, a younger family, sought a more contemporary appearance for the exterior. The lines and forms of a traditional Colonial are still present but black windows set the stage for the more modern interiors.
Though the footprint couldn’t be drastically expanded, carefully planned additions optimize flow and functionality.
The kitchen, dining, and family area, transforms dark and compartmentalized spaces by removing walls and expanding openings between spaces, offering visual connection and an open-concept ambiance. Interior finishes blend natural oak, white trim and walls, textured neutrals and brass or black accents.
A newly designed and expanded kitchen features custom cabinetry, high-end finishes and appliances, and improved connectivity to living spaces.
